Bali's Air Paradise Suspends Services

Bali's Air Paradise suspends services

Bali air carrier, Air Paradise suspends services because of low passenger numbers.

Air Paradise stopped services yesterday, and is now reviewing its financial position, because of a downturn in business caused by the recent bombing attacks in Bali, Indonesia, of places frequented by holidaying tourists.

After the bomb outrage on October 1st, which killed 20 people, the number of foreign tourists visiting Bali has dropped by 37 percent.

Air Paradise's mainstay is budget Australian tourists, and it used to run four airbuses between Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth Australia to (and from) Denpasar, Indonesia.

The Australian Consul-General, Mr Brent Hall, said there were around 1400 Aussies in Bali at the moment, and arrangements are now being made for Qantas to step in and fly them home.

Mr Hall said the Enbassy planned to contact all Australians who had registered with the Consulate and let them know the situation with Air Paradise and tell them about the Qantas flight offer.

Air Paradise says that further information will be posted on the company website as it becomes available. Ticket holders are advised to contact their travel agents and to monitor their website http://www.airparadise.com.au/ for further updates.
